Beloit, IL (January 17, 2020) – A serious crash took place on Friday afternoon at approximately 3:12 p.m. in Beloit. The incident was confirmed to have occurred along the river at South Riverside Drive and Eclipse Boulevard. Witnesses are reporting that the crash was a head-on collision and authorities have confirmed serious injuries resulted.
The Beloit Police and Beloit Fire and Rescue were on the scene. The accident scene was blocked off while the investigation took place and aid was administered to the injured parties. It is unknown if the severity of the injuries were life-threatening.
The northbound lanes of South Riverside Driver were closed down all the way through Portland Avenue. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains open.
