Town of Lima, WI (February 4, 2020) – A fatal crash took place after a rollover accident occurred on Monday evening in the town of Lima Center. A 20-year-old Whitewater woman was ejected from her vehicle after the crash. She was not wearing her seatbelt. The Rock County Sherrif’s Office reported that she was transported to the hospital where she died.

There were three other passengers in her car when the crash happened. A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were transported by ambulance to Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center. They were reported to have non-life-threatening injuries. The third passenger was confirmed to be another 19-year-old man who was not taken to the hospital. All of the passengers in the vehicle were wearing their seatbelts.

Deputies rushed to the scene of the accident which took place at approximately 6:34 p.m. on East Highway 59 and Highway County N. According to a release from the investigation, the woman was driving “at a high rate of speed” traveling eastbound on Highway 59 when she swerved off of the road to avoid another vehicle. Her car drove into a ditch and rolled over potentially multiple times.

According to the Rock County reconstruction team, the investigation into the details is ongoing. The name of the deceased woman will be released by the Medical Examiner’s Office once her family is notified of her death.

Alcohol as a factor in the crash has not been confirmed,d but authorities did not think that alcohol was a contributing factor that leads to the crash when they arrived at the scene.
