Madison, WI (March 2, 2020) – A robbery took place at Dick’s Sporting Goods late Friday night. The incident took place at approximately 8:50 p.m. at a store located at 350 East Towne Mall.

A female identified as Stephanie M. Roll was observed stealing products from the store. Once identified, witnesses stated she was attempting to flee the scene by jumping into the car with her getaway driver. The driver was identified as Melvin R. Horton.

During their attempts to flee, the suspects hit a security guard and inflicted injuries as a result of the crash. The suspects had stolen golf clubs in tow. The identity of the security guard injured during the incident was not released.

The authorities found the suspects at the 700 block of North Thompson Drive and pulled them over. After the two were arrested, Horton, aged 61 was booked into Dane County jail with charges of second-degree reckless endangerment and being party to a retail theft. Roll, 44, was charged with retail theft and bail jumping.

Fortunately, the golf clubs were returned to the store without damage.
