Pecatonica, IL (November 27, 2019)According to initial reports, three individuals were taken by ambulance to the hospital after a crash involving a semi-truck and two passenger cars on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on Route 20 and Pecatonica Road.

The accident took place just after 11:00 a.m, directly across from the Illinois State Police District 16 headquarters.

It is believed that all victims will survive their injuries, the Illinois State Police has reported.

The police explained that the semi was traveling westbound on Route 20 and as it approached the intersection of Pecatonica Road it was unable to reduce its speed to stop. A Jeep Cherokee and a Honda CRV were stopped westbound on Route 20 at that same intersection. As a result of the semi being unable to stop, it rear-ended both vehicles.

There were significant delays in traffic as a result. Traffic was diverted from the area. The ISP indicated that they are still investigating the crash and charges are pending

Our thoughts are with the injured parties in hopes of a full recovery.
