Rockford, IL (March 16, 2020) – Three people were injured and one was severely injured during a crash that took place early on Saturday morning. The accident was the result of a rollover accident and occurred at the 900 block of South Winnebago.

The Rockford Police Department was called to the scene at approximately 12:00 a.m. They encountered a Ford Focus which was traveling southbound, went off of the road and hit a tree. There was no confirmation of what caused the vehicle to lose control and drive off the road.

After the crash, two men and one woman were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. One of the men was suffering from life-threatening injuries according to authorities.

The RPD continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
