Rockford, IL (April 22, 2020) – An accident took place on Wednesday night. According to authorities, a vehicle struck a bicyclist around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of 20th Street and 8th Avenue in Rockford. Authorities with the Rockford Police Department and EMS were on the scene. Injuries were confirmed to have resulted from the crash.

One individual was reported to have sustained a head injury and required immediate medical attention. The severity of the injury was not released, but it is believed that the injured party required transportation to the local hospital for treatment. The RPD has told the public to avoid the area while they worked the scene.

Detectives with RPD are still investigating the accident.
