Rockford, IL (March 9, 2020) – A pedestrian was hit by an SUV on Sunday night at approximately 8:30 p.m. in Rockford. The incident was confirmed to have taken place in the area of Ferguson Street and Morgan Street.

According to witnesses, a pedestrian was hit by a red SUV which fled the scene after impact. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for treatment. The severity of the injuries has not yet been reported.

The Rockford Police Department was on the scene as well as personnel from the Rockford EMS to provide aid to the injured party. RPD advised the public to avoid the area while they worked the scene.

The RPD continues to investigate the details of the accident and is searching for the driver of the SUV.
