Rockford, IL (November 26, 2019) – A serious multi-vehicle crash took place at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon during the height of rush hour traffic. The crash reportedly occurred on highway US-20 near Alpine and the Bypass. A blue pick up truck rolled over in the crash, destroying the vehicle.
At least one person was trapped inside their mangled vehicle and required extrication. There were three people and two cars involved in the crash. Two people were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries from the crash.
At this time, we do not know the current conditions of the injured victims but reports indicate that their injuries were not life-threatening.
Traffic in the eastbound direction of the US-20 was stopped for many miles following the crash. One lane was temporarily closed down as the Illinois State Police conducted their investigation.
It is unclear what caused the crash and the investigation remains ongoing.
